Authorship

In order to qualify for authorship of a manuscript, the following criteria should be observed:

  1. Significant input to the idea or design of the work; the gathering, processing, or interpretation of data for the work; writing the work or carefully editing it to check for significant intellectual substance; AND
  2. Final approval of the version that will be published; AND
  3. A commitment to take responsibility for every aspect of the work, making sure that any concerns about the integrity or correctness of any portion of it are duly looked into and addressed.
  4. Those who contributed to the work but do not qualify for authorship should be listed in the acknowledgments.

All writers, including those who have been removed from the list, must authorize any changes made to the list of authors. The corresponding author should serve as a liaison between the editor and the other writers, keep them updated, and include them in important publishing choices. We retain the right to ask for verification that each author satisfies the requirements for authorship.
